I do cross country over the summer, and do approx 18hrs a week with the team, and then another 10hrs a week myself, running two a days. Should I include that in my brag sheet?

You spend 28 hours a week with cross country? How many miles per week are you running?

So.......no credit for time spent on this huh???

tactics22- 60-70miles/week.

So should I add that to my brag sheet, the hours I dedicate to sports?

Yes, include them.

Be careful with your facts - I was a 4:05 miler and national champion in high school (1978 if you must know - still on the all time lists) and certainly didn't spend 28/30 hours a week at cross country/track - more like 20...i had high grades and scores but the largest challenge to obtaining them was the competitive pressure and fatigue athletics brought on - not the hours

Most adcoms have got to know (given the number of runners that apply to schools all over) that running takes discipline and is very hard and fatiguing on your body - and will very much respect an honest assessment.

mam1959- I think the hours spent are more these days. You count going to meets, which can be a total of a 5 hour endeavor on a Saturday. A couple hours a day at practice, maybe some weight workouts, pool work...... it adds up fast.

Your dedication to running will speak for itself, especially since you've enjoyed success with it. There's no need to list hours.
