As the title asks: anyone ever include little pictures or photographs with captions to illustrate their college essays?
If so, how did it work out for you?
In some (most?) cases you will have to type directly into a textbox. I don’t know how you plan to insert pictures into a textbox? Would you have a link that they have to copy and paste??
Some applications have the ability to upload pdf or word files.
The Common App has a textbox, so it’s a valid question nonetheless. 
Tons of kids do it (and it works) for UChicago.
Go ahead, but just make sure it doesn’t take up too much space on the document you are trying to write and print off.
