Including "Rock" Band Awards, etc.

Would it be appropriate to list awards that I've won at "Battle of the Bands" type of events on my resume?

I realize they're obviously not academic in nature, nor do they demonstrate a commitment to service or anything of that sort, but practicing and performing is time-consuming and does require dedication.

What does CC think?

Put them on the application. It shows a different side to you.

You should list them.

^ agreed, plus it shows your interest in music and an instrument!

no doubt. thats definitely an important aspect of your character

Yea definitely talk about it. I'm talking about my band in my applications. That's my biggest non-academic EC since I've spent so much time on it (60+ shows in about a year and a half) and I'm assuming it's been just as important to you. It's good as a well-rounded thing plus something you have a passion for and shows that you can put in A LOT of effort into something totally not academic.
