Income difference

Hey guys, I am new to the website and have a couple of questions!
I sent off my CSS Profile some days ago based on 2011 tax return info, and my parents received their W2s just now.
They show that my parents' income increased about 7k compared to last year's tax returns.
I can't file FAFSA because I do not have a social security number.
Will the colleges be alarmed that there is 7k difference, and should I contact them to update the information? or will iDOC verification be sufficient and will they make necessary changes?

Call the school(s) and find out how they want this handled.

You are going to need a social security number for federal aid…are your parents international? Do you have documents to prove your citizenship or are you planning on applying as an international (and not applying for federal aid)?

yeah, i am not eligible for federal aid. Only institutional aid. So I guess the best way is to contact the school? I thought if I left it alone they will take care of it by updating with IDOC files, maybe not.

Go ahead and email the schools. Ask them what you should do. They will tell you. Don’t be surprised if each place has different requirements.
