income?

i have randomly heard that you should never check the fin aid box ?! b/c it ruins your chances or something.....is this just a matter of opinion or is the school known for accepting high income family students.

Thanks

Need-blind schools aren't supposed to make decisions based on your ability to pay.
It's a really stupid idea to not request financial aid if you need it, just to increase your chances by a miniscule amount (if at all).

Where did you hear something as ridiculous as that? If you search these threads, you will see that Princeton has enabled many a student to attend, because of the generous financial aid policy.

From the May 12, 2006 Daily Princetonian:
"As part of the University's effort to expand its outreach, Rapelye said this year's class may have the highest number of enrolled students on financial aid in the school's history. For the Class of 2009, a record 55 percent of students received financial support, and Rapelye said she thinks this year's class may surpass that figure.

Though the number of students on financial aid has been fairly consistent for the past few years, the percentage has risen drastically since 10 years ago, when less than 40 percent of students received financial support. Rapelye attributes this rise to the shift to an entirely "no loan" policy and increased efforts to attract low-income students.

"We have great resources here, and we'd like to be able to offer those to as many worthy students as possible, regardless of their financial situation," Rapelye said."

The Admission Office doesn't even think about FA. That's the worry of the FA office. Requesting FA has no bearing on the decision.

yeah princeton is the last school that will do that--any school that has a no loan policy must be HELLA nice about FA

I believe the don't-check-the-box policy applies to underendowed liberal arts colleges.
