Incoming college freshman, ivy league transfer hopeful-what should I do?

Alright, I'm about to start college at a state school honors program. I'm going to try to transfer to an Ivy, Duke, or a competitive liberal arts college. What should I do during my freshman year, to make myself as competitive a transfer candidate as possible? Thanks

What’s wrong with the state school honors program? You already have one foot out the door before you even show up. This is not a good way to begin your college career.

Why not focus on your honors program for four years, do well, and head to an Ivy or similar school for graduate or professional school?

Get a 4.0. But understand that, of the Ivies, only Cornell is transfer-friendly, i.e., actually has room. And within Cornell, it’s the state-supported colleges, not Arts & Sciences.
