<p>i am an incoming freshman and have a couple of questions i was hoping to get answered. Thnx in advance.
*Do teachers or professors expect you to have textbooks and be familiar with the subject on the first day?
*Are you supposed to apply for a work study before i move in?
*Are the showers in the dorms private and lockable?</p>
<p>1) of course not! some students won’t buy their textbook until class started because sometimes professor tell you you don’t need to buy certain books. It is ok to wait for first day of class.</p>
<p>2) you mean a work study job? they are first come first serve, so start looking at gaucholink.</p>
<p>3) bathrooms are totally private and lockable in san cat. But for other dorms like santa rosa, they have a curtain but no door, so not lockable</p>

<p>Incoming Freshman answering your second question. I’m pretty sure work opportunities are still available on campus, but I got unofficially hired to Ortega Dining Hall a few weeks ago thanks to work study. You should probably start searching for work before all the slots are filled up.</p>
