Hi all,
I just wanted to see where I stand compared to everybody else.
My college allows incoming freshmen to take 12 credit hours first semester, but require at least 14 from then on.

I am taking 13 credit hours this semester. I might add one more course, making it 15.
How about you all?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

This is my schedule(so far):
Calc III, Intro BIO I, Philosophy, Engineering Physics I, Laboratory for PHYS

I'm taking 15--Honors English, City I (an honors seminar), Introduction to Psychology, and Beginner Japanese I. I think your schedule is fine because for your first semester of college you don't want to have a heavy workload.

yah, Engineering Phys has the reputation of being the hardest class in our college. :(
and BIO is a lot of workload according to pick-a-prof, will require articulate time management.

Only 12. I took college bio already otherwise it would be 16. I only have two classes a day at most so I was thinking of taking an elective. But I also have my two worst subjects (chem & calc) so I'm really not sure what to do. :P

I took 15 my freshman year, first semester. Pre-Calc, Intro to Psych, World History, Global Consumer Culture (required class for my original major), a freshman seminar in "success strategies", and a self-defense pe class.

all of my first semester classes are defined by the school. I'm taking 15 first semester, after that, we can take more, but have to take at least 18.

I'm taking 18. 4 classes and a freshman seminar. At USC most people take 16, but the seminar apparently doesn't require a lot of work at it doesn't go the entire semester. So I'm taking:

Writing
Religion and Ethical Issues
Chinese Civilization
Biology
Musical Subcultures of the Sixties (seminar)

I figure Bio will kill my ambitions of being a doctor. lol

God I wish I knew. I've earned 48 hours' worth of AP credit/CC credit, which screws me up immensely in terms of scheduling. (My school also schedules by the number of years you've been there, not class standing, which means I look forward to more of this in the semesters to come.)

Right now I'm signed up for:
Calc III - 3 credits
Organic Chem I - 3 credits
BIOL 215, Cells & Proteins - 4 credits
PSCL 230, Child Psychology - 3 credits
Varsity Swimming - 0 credits (P.E. is required)

Plus a 4-credit seminar class.

All the lab sections for ochem were full. So either I'll be dropping the ochem lecture, or I'll be replacing my psych class with the ochem lab. So either 14 or 16 credits, I guess? 14 is the minimum here, for freshmen at least.
