how come you're worried?

Sara, sry to hear that. but yea, why you are worrying? next yr should be exciting. and you make make a lot of new friends.=D

be happy. i will pray for you.

I visited and felt soooo out-of-place, so that's mainly why I'm worried. The Greek scene worried me too.

but do you still decide to attend?

we can't really study ALL the time, and Greek life will be a really good experience. after all, i think the friends we make in college will be the friends forever. =D

get a facebook and the sun will come out from behind the clouds

haha, nice, yea i agree.

s'vrone- I'm not really into the whole Greek scene either. I met with someone who went to Vandy at a meeting who was not in a sorority, but she was still really involved on campus. She really helped reassure me that there are other opportunities available.

When I visited the girls I stayed with said that although 50% of the girls are in sororities it really doesn't have a big impact on their social life. They basically said its a great way to get involved in volunteering, but other than that it didn't really affect them. They also said most of their best friends weren't in their sororities since girls pledge second semester, but it's very different for guys since they pledge first and make most of their friends through frats. Hope that makes you feel a little better!

btw, are you guys planning to join greek life?

i think i will.

I think NO

why?

isn't it a lot of fun?

There is no way I'm joining a sorority. It sounds like a bunch of stress and money.

"but it's very different for guys since they pledge first"

In response to that comment from earlier post - both fraternities and sororities pledge second semester.

i loved the frats i saw- seemed like a great way to network and make friends for life...

yea, that's the reason i might join it. but many ppl's concern is just the money and time.

I'm not really sure if I want to join yet. I've made too many decisions in the last month so I think I can put that one off for a while.

... How do we get our e-mail? I got my VUNetID, but my preferred e-mail address is N/A.

can you access your mailbox? type in your VUnetID and password to access your email.

Ah... That works! JOY!
