101th post… I win

Congrats Dawg but the real prize is 101.

Sayit: Nauseating talk is what drives this thread. Enjoy the ride.

Heyitsnotme: You can’t cure the deprivation if your not in the game.

hey you get accepted to 09’ fall too? what you plan on doing there

Yeah I got in.

I plan on having fun and meeting new people while bettering myself academically. :P

same here where does everyone plan on staying

mine was

beaty
broward
muphree

Mine was:

Mallory
Broward
Rawlings

Double or triple

I want to major in English with a concentration in CW, and possibly a double major with Criminology. I also want to take some psych classes. I want to be either a shrink, prosecutor or possibly English teacher, but only the latter if I can do it at the community college (at least) level. Preferably night classes. There is no way I’m entering a HS ever again after I graduate :D

amen to that!

I’m going into Broward or Rawlings. Also there is apparently a roller hockey rink right around the dorms; pick up hockey for the winnnn

By midnight Sunday CC tells me that this thread needs 3000 views otherwise it will pull the plug.

In order to hit the goal we need to make this thread entertaining to draw more hits. Can’t have insipid comments like I plan on “bettering myself academically”. That’s as boring as watching grass grow. Pick up the pace and show some PASSION.

Lol Hurley, Learning IS my number one goal however… I am not a freshman so I am not gonna be living on campus. That equates to a little more freedom (no worrying about RA’s etc etc). As for me… I am sure you can use your imagination as you’ve displayed with Kitty ;)… If not I’ll give the sterotypical reply…

Party

Tailgating

More Partying

Did that knock your socks off? Geez, I sure hope so!

^ that sucks on the 3000 views but we can do it lol

i posted stuff on another forum asking whats some advise on incoming freshman heres what most of them said

meet as many people as you can, dont drink in the dorms (its lame anyways), dont eat all the crap food in the cafeteria, play intramurals (even if you suck at the sport), do your homework, get to know your teachers that are in your major (they can have hookups later down the line). i think those are pretty important

Treat class as if is your job.

The fun will come, but remember the reason why you are there.

I’ve been to Jr. College, a Private College and now a State College - here’s what I learned…

Test out of as many classes as you can!! Which should be most of the Fresh/Soph classes. I swear I wish I would have done that. I even had a professor ask me what I was doing in Freshman English and why I didn’t test out of it. Of course she asked me at the end of the semester. Seriously. This is the number one thing people need to do. You can literally enter college as a Junior or a well credited Sophomore. You can test out of most basics like Math, History, English, Science, Languages. A test that’s less than $100 can save you thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of time.

Only take electives that are Junior level or Senior level. It is POINTLESS to take lower level electives. POINTLESS. I took lower level electives and it ended up screwing me for another semester. I had enough hours to graduate, but not enough ‘upper level’ hours.

Talk to other people on campus about classes and professors.

Know your degree plan!! My department advisor and my head advisor told me two different things!

Note prerequiste classes that can prevent you from getting into a class and note classes that can trump other classes. For example, at my school, if you can take statistics, you do not have to take alegebra. Too late for me, of course.

Appeal to your professors’ likes/dislikes/emotions. College sadly is NOT the time to speak your mind. Professors, ALL professors have egoes that need to be stroked. Simply tell the professor what they want to hear, get your A and get the hell out of there. Do not make college harder than it has to be. As soon as you have your degree, no one will ask you specifics about your classes. Like “did you really agree with what professor so and so said; cause he’s an idiot?”

Lastly…80% of passing is simply showing up…especially to lecture based classes. If you show up and take notes…you’ll pass. Period.

Heyits & Chrisp: Good job bringing something to the table.

Post #130 in this thread gets two 35 yard line 14 row up home side seats to the Tennessee in the game in the Swamp. Kitty and I already have the two seats right next to those.

Oooh, really? You’ve already reserved them? What a sweetie pie.

H. and I are going to throw the hugest, most swingin’, most talked-about college party in history. Poster 120 gets a special VIP invite.

See the Kitty knows how to post.

The mods say that the thread hit the 3000 view mark with about an hour and a half to spare.
So this thread gets a temporary reprieve. They tell me that they will issue the next mandated goal shortly. For now we are still on double secret probation. Apparently someones grad bash got out of hand.

We have to get to 3200 by Tuesday night, for my Birthday on the 28th!

Consider it done.

I’m working on a better present than just 3200 but that’s a nice number.

PM it to me.

Almost time to blow out the candles and make a wish.

How about back-to-back national championships?

imo another he15man for jesus. another championship wouldn’t hurt either

Forget about that CC sponsored spring break trip to Cancun. Apparently because of some flu epidemic happening there the lawyers are spooked and are raising all sorts of liability questions.

yeah… swine flu makes for a rather bad vacation.
