I am applying for 10th grade to Lawrenceville and Peddie (NJ whaaddupp). I have moved three times in a row, so I guess I'm pretty good with the whole new student deal, but it doesn't make it any less nerve racking. Although I am glad that at Lawrenceville, they are accepting around 30 new sophomores GIRLS(because of the Carter house, was only co-ed until '87 and had a shortage of girls houses) so I won't be alone IF i were to attend, but how hard is it to fit in to the social scene at boarding schools in general? I went to CTY, which was only 3 weeks, and I built friendships that still last over 2 years. I remember thinking, if the camp was 4 weeks, I would have became even closer with them and complete best friends. So when you imagine that the wiitle froshies at boarding school now becoming total BFFLZ while living and studying together for 10 MONTHS, they must have formed strong friendships already. And then a new year begins and the awkward new sophomores come in and AKSJFHASKLFJDFKLAFDF. Its just such an awkward situation. My friend at a HADES school was telling me how cliques are EXTREMELY prevalent at boarding school. I have always been that free floater who was friends with everyone, but not BEST friends with one sole group.

Yeah so can any other incoming sophomores share their experiences as being newbs?
