Incoming Transfer Student, Bio Major

I have finished the inrto biology sequence and general chem sequence this summer so that I may begin to take Genetics and Organic Chem in the fall 2010.

I noticed that genetics, a class of 300, has been full for quite some time. Is it difficult to get into classes such as these?

Thank you

Also- My admissions letter indicated that I do not have to take any placement exams. On the other hand, I just received my transfer credit evaluation and it states that I am to take the math placement exam. I have already booked my flights and such in lieu of not taking the exam… I got no trusting answer from admissions nor no e-mails back about the situation. Does anyone know first hand the accurate answer for this? (I have completed first semester Adv. calculus at my prior University)
