Congratulations on getting accepted! I myself am totally stoked. I see similar threads like this for Cal, but none for UCLA! This thread is for admitted students who are planning to attend UCLA this 2009 school year. Discuss whatever UCLA-related things you want. You should all also join the UCLA 2009 College Confidential Group.

i have a couple of UCLA icehockey shirts, those aren’t new though. i got a ucla sweatshirt about a month ago i love it haha i do want to get some things though.

i am soo excited! i can’t wait to start in the fall :)

oh and congrats supa! i was reading the appeals thread and saw yours was accepted!

Yea my mind is blown right now, I’m so happy. When I visited UCLA the store seemed really expensive. Are you guys buying your UCLA gear from there? Do you know if they give admitted students any discounts? I’m thinking of buying a few shirts and hoodies.

i agree thats why i’ve been holding off. there is a store in westwood though…i can’t think of where it is right now but it sells the same stuff for the most part that the UCLA store sells but it is cheaper.

I’m thinking about picking up my hoodies in downtown LA (fashion district, I remember). I guess it’s cheaper to buy it there than @ UCLA, even online lol! I’ll check it out this Friday and tell you guys what I find :)

i am SO stoked, ad;kjfkdjf ah! haha im just waiting for my grades to come out right now, which im nervous for, but im so excited! cant wait for my bruin card and orientation to come. I’m definately buying all the ucla stuff after my grades come out lol.

yay congrats bruins!

@ supa- congrats buddy, cant believe u got in! appealing is so hard, but im glad u got in!

Thanks conn1ex3. I’m sure you got great grades! Are spots for orientation filling up fast? I can’t sign up for stuff yet so I have to wait. What about classes? Has anyone registered for any summer/fall courses?

I’m definitely looking forward to what you guys have to say about the gear. I don’t live in LA, but I think I’ll pick up some up when I come down for orientation.

sacooper4, i know the store you’re talking about it’s off of Broxton and Westwood I believe. it’s in the area with the little shops and movie theatres.

my dad bought me a sweatshirt and then i got another from victorias secret, they are overall pretty expensive so i would recommend going to somewhere like footlocker, they have a few UCLA sweatshirts to pick from for only $24.

^ im definately getting the ucla clothes from the VS HAHA thanks for reminding me!

@supa- orientation is definately filling up reallly fast, you might have to call them about it, im not sure. you sign up for classes at orientation, i heard ursa activates at 7 pm for us. I’m in the first session, cant wait.

The store has a cheap section of like $10 shirts too btw… no they do not give admitted students discounts. Also they have Blue and Gold Week and they have an event called “Get the red out”…basically you give them any red shirt and they give you a UCLA one for free! (So yeah, plain red shirt from the 99c store will get you a UCLA shirt in like 6th week in the fall.)

lol! To comfort Supa- I have no idea whether it’s a mistake or not. But I signed up my orientation yesterday at night, and I got session 202, which is on 7/2 __!

There’s a store on CityWalk called Sports Avenue and they have $10 UCLA t-shirts. They also have wall clocks, pennants, bumber stickers, licence plate holders, pet jerseys, etc. A lot of stuff! The best deals are the t-shirts though.

That Westwood Village store is located on the corner opposite the Burger King. $10 shirts and hats. It’s mostly clothing though – only a few other merchandise. However, they did have UCLA MOM/DAD t-shirts for around $16.

The UCLA store is expensive and I thought I was at the mall because they have so much crap. It puts the LACC student store to shame. When I went last week they had clearance tables outside.

Although I’ve have had access to myUCLA since this morning (and URSA since yesterday afternoon). The actual decision website still hasn’t updated! It still says I’m in review. Meh, I hope it will update soon, that way all of my irrational fears will be vanquished.

EDIT: Oh man I totally forgot, I also need to get a keychain for UCLA!

Yeah, all of us had the same thing when we were accepted the first time around. Things tend to update pretty slowly… at least we knew we would have the decision by 5 after everyones stuff started changing earlier in the day! I think I actually accepted my SIR before the decision site changed.
