Incomplete Financial Aid Application?

Hello,
I just received an email about my financial aid application being incomplete, although I faxed all the required materials. I am not able to call to inquire about the situation until Monday(due to hours of the Student Financial Services office); however, I am applying early through the Questbridge program. Will Yale not consider me without a complete financial aid application? Does this mean I have to opt out of the College Match and opt for Regular Decision?

I can’t give you a definitive answer because only the admissions office can do that. Still, as a parent who has successfully navigated my kids’ admissions and financial aid processes at two top 10 schools, I am very confident that this (likely administrative) glitch will be of absolutely no consequence for you.

The admissions office will review your application independent of your financial aid application. As a Questbridge applicant, they know you’ll need financial aid, and they’ll proceed with your file without knowing or caring that there’s a delay in the FA office.

I’m wishing you the best.

Admissions generally gives students about a week or so to supply the missing information, whether it’s missing financial aid info or transcripts, test scores, teacher rec’s etc.

When you call Yale Admissions on Monday, have your documents all prepared so that you can FAX them what they need. Here’s the list: http://admissions.yale.edu/faq/questbridge-program

Thank you so much!

However, my family is not required to file a tax return, so we are required to fill out the Questbridge Tax Nonfiling Statement. My problem was that I had to submit all materials by November 1st, and used the information on the Yale QB FAQ(http://admissions.yale.edu/faq/questbridge-program). The information there stated that my parents had to fill out a Tax Nonfiling Statement, but linked to the wrong document with a different fax number. Questbridge, within the last week, must have updated the information because there is a new document and information that was not there before about a document to be filled out specific to Questbridge.

So I still may be considered to the College Match? Will I have to submit the Cover Sheet despite the fact that I have none of the materials to be included with it, or am I supposed to simply fax the Nonfiling Statement?

Again, thanks so much!

That’s a question only a Yale Admissions Officer can answer, so I would call Yale on Monday, find out what document’s are missing, and ask if you FAX over the document ASAP, would you still be considered a match for Yale.

I agree with gibby and, while only the admissions office can give you a valid answer, I’m reasonably confident that this will not prevent them from giving you full consideration.

Thank you for your help and kind words  I contacted them this morning and it turns out that because of an administrative glitch, my CSS profile had not been documented as reported. Thankfully, Yale now has all of my documents, and I am still under consideration for the College Match.

Thanks so much!
