Incomplete Major Pre-req for UCLA

I have a question for admissions as a Mathematics/Applied Science major to UCLA. I had a friend who just recently graduated from high school this year. I helped him out plan course transfer but lately, there are some circumstances that led him to be rebellious on my advice that he wants to lead transfer on his own. Without my help, personally I am not sure whether he can transfer to the UC or not... still...what are the odds he will make it to UCLA as Mathematics/Applied Science major without completing 5 courses out of the 11 or so courses to transfer? He would by winter already have accumulated 55 units given that he took a heavy duty summer load and taking about 17 units this fall semester... what are his chances to get into UCLA as a math major w/o completing most of his pre-reqs?

Thanks.

im not a math major but from what the undergrad admissions coordinator said... it doesnt matter, as long as you finish your all your major prereqs (that are offered) by the end of spring.
