Inconsistency in app

I just submitted my app a few days ago. Reading over it, I realized that I did not put down one of my 8 AP tests (the only one I got a 4 on - the rest were 5's) in the AP section. However, I also stated that I am a national AP scholar. Will this raise suspicions as I am only self reporting 7 scores? Do colleges have an official list of national AP scholars or something, or should I just send an official score report?

Another thing to consider is that the 4 is a subject I self studied (so it is not indicated on my transcript, avoiding an inconsistency there), and is also the area of my stated major. Essentially I'm worried that 1) they will think I lied about being a national AP scholar, 2) if I send in the score, they will doubt my capability in my intended area of study and 3) it will call attention to the fact that I did not initially report it.

Am I overthinking this? Thanks in advance!

Yes, you are overthinking it. I would let it go, as it was a genuine mistake and correcting it might raise suspicion about the rest of your application.

Thanks! I also realized a) I completely forgot to report planned tests and b) didn’t explicitly state that one of my debate awards from freshman year was in JV. I think that the latter error is pretty significant as it implies that I am one of the best debaters in the country - which I am most certainly not. Theoretically they should be able to figure this one out, though, as getting to the late elimination rounds of this tournament as a freshman in varsity is essentially impossible and has probably never been done before.

Should I also let these go, or just correct these two errors with one email to the file room? I do think that I should correct the debate issue, and I assume that just adding the AP info in the same email wouldn’t be that big of a deal?

^^ Let it go. Harvard is on record as saying that 80% of applicants have the stats to be admitted, so how does Admissions decide on which smart kids to admit? I firmly believe that your teacher recommendations and essays are critical – it’s where Admissions finds most of the answers to these questions: https://college.harvard.edu/admissions/application-process/what-we-look</a>.

If Admissions has a question about your EC’s or AP tests, an Admissions Director will email you for more information. It’s not worth updating them on small errors, such as the ones you’ve mentioned. I imagine many students make the same kind of errors in their applications and if everyone updated Admissions about them, they wouldn’t have time to read files.
