<p>I've been taking practice tests from CB's Blue book. My CR score is very unstable. I got a 780 in CR once, and yesterday a 700. Is that a normal outcome?</p>
<p>Yup. If you’re not focused, your scores can drop like a plane without fuel (cruddy analogy, but you get the point). The number of hard, medium and easy questions on the CR sections are about the same, so any radical change in scores is most likely due to a lack of concentration. For example, I got a 750 on CR on a PR test and a 690 on the next because the room was noisy and hot (not a good testing environment. I don’t know what I was thinking believing I could get a good score…)</p>
<p>My CR score depended somewhat on how many vocabulary questions I got right/wrong in each test (passages were relatively consistent). Maybe that’s what’s leading to your varied scores.</p>
