So I'm applying to Cornell, early admissions, at the end of this month. I also found out this morning that my counsellor sent out my transcript before I had a chance to look over it and she also ticked a box or something that confirmed it was all correct so that now it cannot be changed (on the common app).
However when I looked over it after this, my grade 10 subject Arabic was listed with a grade C (this subject should have been removed as the teacher didn't even mark my end exam but gave me this grade based on what a first year Arabic student 'should' get) which messed up my previously 4.0 GPA. It also listed my IB subject predicted as five 6's and one 7 whereas it should say three 6's and three 7's.
This seriously pulls down my grades! Is there any way this can be changed? What can I do?

My D’s school asked students to verify the transcript in the Summer as it would be the same until there is senior grades in it. If the counselor did not give you this right and messed it up, you should talk to her/him about this. A change in grade from 10th grade should have been fixed more than a year ago. If it doesn’t, there is something wrong in the system or it never happened. Don’t you have any way to verify your grades in the system?

I thought the grade 10 grade has been fixed as my parents received an email from the Head saying it had officially been removed…apparently not. No, my school doesn’t have a way for me to verify grades and its an Australian school which has little experience dealing with Uni in America and the Common app- they didn’t seem to understand the impact this would have when I brought it up.

Can you ask the counselor to contact CA to have that resent?

Your counselor can provide the corrected information and an explanation using the Optional Report (a form that’s available when the counselor logs onto his or her common app account).

I’ll go and see my counselor tomorrow to ask her to do these, thanks so much
