Increase in test points out of sheer experience

Hi all, just wondering, for those of you who took the SAT more than once and did NOT take a prep class the 2nd time around, how much did ur score go up the second time around out of sheer experience with the test? Let's assume you gave it a hard try both times, and never came in "cold". Thanks!

I think everyone you talk to here has studied for the test, through the BB… I don’t know if anyone on here has taken the test cold turkey. And if you did, shame on you.

That’s not at all what I’m asking. I did a good bit of studying for the first one, and got 2040. If i did the same amount of studying, and took no prep course, how much of a jump could i get out of sheer experience? Again, please READ my question.

I thought I studied a LOT for my first test(only got a 1990). I was really disappointed, but then I started going through things a lot more in depth, doing all the BB questions, carefully reviewing ALL questions I had trouble with. I still have yet to take my SAT the second time but on a recent practice test i got around 2150, so yes practice does definitely help :)

Your question is extremely vague. Different people do different amounts of studying, and as a result, people would experience different point increases.

Does THAT answer your question?

The only large increase I experienced was in writing.

Went from…

Correct-Incorrect-Omitted-Essay-Score

36-11-2-9-580

to

42-7-0-12-710

I did two practice tests untimed “one hundredth heartedly”. I think the main reason my score went up so much was because the essay topic was much easier for me. But my score would’ve went up a lot anyways :). 33 vs 40 raw scores

I went in January of freshmen year without any studying or anything and got a 2050.
Over one year later, and no more studying I got a 2100  and that second time, my math went down 50 points
