Increase in Writing and Reading

I got a 450 in reading and want to increase it to 600's and also got a 620 in writing and want to increase it to 700. My average essay is 10 but I do very bad on the multiple choice.
Please give tips as my score is 1800 and I want to increase it to 1900's.

Do I retake to get better. If yes'm give me tips and if no state me the reasons.

I would just look over practice tests and re-read the passages and analyze the questions.

I learned a little neat trick from a tutor:
In the reading sections, read the passage and find a word “but” (or words like however, etc…) and circle it, then underline the rest. It points out important details pretty accurately for some of the questions.
You can also eliminate obvious wrong answers and do the best guess.
overall, best way to increase you score is to practice, practice, practice.

well, the first time I took the SAT I got a 1980, with a 590 reading, and 620 writing. For the next 3 weeks I studied my ass off (I was good with math, though) for reading and writing, and ended up increasing my reading to a 680 (which I’ll try to increase even more in October) and an 800 in Writing. So not only is it possible to raise your scores, but it is VERY possible. All I did for CR was practice a lot, so that you really understand the questions and the answers they’re looking for. Also, you want to study a lot of vocab (I wish I did this, I got 4 vocab ones wrong, and 4 reading comprehension wrong, so if I knew all the vocab, I could’ve had 740+).

For writing, it is not only possible to increase to a 700, but even higher, as I did. All I did was go onto the sparknotes writing section and study all the grammar there, and a couple other sources of grammar which you can find just by searching google. Then all I did was practice a ton out of the bluebook. I went through every writing section, and after I got a question wrong, I scanned the question to find out the right answer, and really understood the grammar that went with it, so that I didn’t make the same mistake again. For the essay, I didn’t really practice, like many people do (I didn’t even write one). I was blessed by being a pretty good writer, so all I really did (which I really recommend) is come up, beforehand, with 4 or 5 really good examples (which can be fake http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/409070-sample-sat-12-essays-10.html</a> my essay is near the bottom, if you want some extra advice). But make sure that your examples are all varied in different ways.

So that’s really it. Just from doing this for 3 weeks, I brought my score up to 2240. Reading went up 90 points (I hate vocab!!!), and writing went up 180 (from getting -10 on MC and a 10 essay, to a perfect MC, and a 12 essay)

Good luck!!! I hope this helps!

So do you think that I should retake this exam for the third time
