Increased SATs 200 points... last minute CHANCE on college list

<p>So... I woke up this morning to find out that my SAT scores had increased by 200, and now I feel like a lot of my schools that were once matches may now to safeties and reaches now may be matches, and etc. I'm also considering adding some last minute schools to my list. Anyway... heres my stats and college list below:</p>

<p>NEW November 09</p>

<p>M - 740
CR - 630
W - 650
Total - 2020 (1370)</p>

<p>OLD January 09</p>

CR - 560
W - 590</p>

<p>I'm currently planning on taking the ACT with writing and 2 SAT subject tests (Math Level II and Lit.) in December (predicting a 30 on ACT, 650+ on Math II, and 600-ish on Lit.)</p>

<p>I will take the AB Calc AP Exam in May.</p>

<p>GPA - 3.53 (No Weighted gpa)</p>

<p>Small boarding school in Mass. About 70 or so kids in my grade.</p>

<p>My school does NOT offer any AP/IB or other type of advance classes but I am taking the hardest senior year course load that my school offers.</p>

<p>Also, my school does not rank but I would suspect I am within the top quarter.</p>

<p>Current course load:
- Calculus
- Senior Research (LA/Writing class)
- Psychology/Sociology
- Economics
- Chorus
- Physics
- Senior Decisions (a "bs" required senior class to "prepare" seniors for life after hs)</p>

- All 4 years in HS
- In 9 productions (6 plays, 3 musicials)
- Leading roles in several
- Co-wrote winter play for last year</p>

- In Chorus for 3 years
- In selective chamber Choir for 3 years
- Sang in Solo Night (singing talent show) for past 3 years
- Vice President of Chorus</p>

<p>Student Government
- Dorm representative for 2 years
- Vice President for senior year</p>

<p>Community Service
- Trip to Jamaica to help throw Christmas party for Orphans
- Helped with Special Olympic's Bike-o-fon for 2 year
- Helped welcome new students to my school
- Gave tours of my school</p>

<p>Athletics
- Varsity Cross Country for past 2 years (do not plan to continue in college)</p>

<p>Awards/Achievements
- Performing Arts Award
- All Star Actor Award at Massachusetts Drama Guild Festival
- Sportsmanship award in Cross Country
- Finalist in Science Fair
- One Freshman to have artwork on display at a local college</p>

- Did the summer program at Columbia University over the past summer</p>

<p>I'm sure I'm leaving something off but thats the gist of it...</p>

- UVA, John Hopkins (legacy), Swarthmore, Northwestern (lol) Brown (lol), Penn (lol, Legacy from both parents and grandparents on both side of family but still... lol)</p>

<p>Definitely add Lehigh and Bucknell (EXCELLENT engineering schools): Bucknell, slight reach and Lehigh, decent reach</p>

<p>Also look into:

  • Rensslaer Polytechnic Institute (NY)
  • Rochester Institute of Technology
  • Boston College</p>

<p>BU is a match, and I think Syracuse would be a safety/match. I don’t know enough about the others to chance you well, but based solely on your scores and GPA, I’d say Lehigh is possible-like a match/reach as well as Bucknell. </p>
