Increasing your FA and decreasing your EFC

I'm intimidated by the idea of calling the financial aid office because the guy who always picks up my calls has a monotone voice that seems to drown out all of my persuasiveness. I want to reduce my EFC so that it is more accordance with my FAFSA EFC (this would require a reduction to the EFC of app. 3,000 to, which would make it 10,000). I do not know if they looked over my CSS profile corrections, or the fifth FAFSA submission (yes, I corrected my FAFSA 4 times), so i'll probably start with those issues; either way, I want some help/advice/tips on how I should approach the FA office. Any input?

lmao i know exactly what person you’re talking about. I called the financial aid office for the first time the other day and lets just say i did not have a good experience. I would be intimidated to call too. I guess just try to be calm and possibly ask if there is someone else you can talk to. Or maybe you could send an e-mail instead.

Does it sound like a work/study student? I always tell DS he needs to articulate on the phone. Anyway… it helps to put your concerns in writing. Try that. ;)
