is it just me or does this thread fell like it was paid for by DH? there’s no mention of a ‘free copy’ anywhere on the web, unless i’m too late…

^You’re too late.

I didn’t get mine today. It’s probably since they ship from Georgia and I live in California.

^I also live in California.

They told me that I was one of the few reviewers to get it shipped by Priority Mail. The other reviewers should get their books later.

^ You got contacted by them? I received the book by Priority Mail as well but I haven’t received word from them by either email or mail.

They emailed me because I emailed them asking when it would get shipped

I seem to recall them shipping the DH Vocab (for the SAT) and the USH Sampler via Priority Mail envelopes (the ones that USPS advertises all the time). Hopefully mine’s still in transit and not lost in the mail; I still didn’t get mine today.

This book is brilliant…do I even need to read AMSCO?

I got mine today! I’m so excited to read this, and I hate history.

so what’s the verdict? Is this the best new thing for apush? How long is it?

^ Just got it today! I will let you know in a few days.

It’s about 350 pages, about half the length of AMSCO. So far, it seems good(I have read Truman-Present and Pre-Colombian-Era of Good Feelings, in addition to the sections on how to write the essays)

Just found out about this book & ordered it today ! I"m excited. I’ve already read through Crash Course. I"m going through AMSCO, but I’m not sure if I’ll have enough time for that. Hopefully DH will help a lot :)

YOU GUYS! Should I get DH or Crash Course? I’m gonna finish AMSCO soon, hopefully, (who am I kidding), but once I do, REA OR DH?!?!?

Now that I have read through the new Direct Hits US History in a Flash, I would recommend it over the Crash Course book. I t is about 100 pages longer and really has great review chapters at the end. I found the chapters on how to write a DBQ and Free Response question very helpful, epecially the sample essays with notations. Also learning to use AP Central which is great.

I have also looked at the 100 multiple-choice questions on the Direct Hits Education website and they are great. I can’t wait to use them with my students.

So do you guys think the Direct Hits can be sufficient enough for a 4 or 5, if it is thoroughly read and reviewed.

My students have loved the the DH US History in a Flash book. Their teachers are behind because of the January snow storm in Atlanta that closed school for a week. They are going through the last chapters of the course very fast and this book has really pinpointed what they need to know.

Check this out https://www.facebook.com/pages/US-History-In-a-Flash/139026446167825. There are tips posted every day that are very helpful.

The US History in a Flash book has been great helping me get through the last chapters in my class, but this weekend the big review begins. I am going to start with the Top 40 Topics you must know that I got from the FB page. Each topic is linked to a chapter in the book.

I’m so stressed and annoyed. Do you think they ship overnight LOL?

So…should I get AMSCO or DH? I can only get one. I am willing to dedicate any amount of time to studying so length is not really an issue for me. I just want something that won’t waste my time.

DH is just as useful, if not more, and is half the length as AMSCO. I think AMSCO has an entire useless section on the pre colombian world(talking about Silk Road and stuff like that)
