A guy from my school got in ED his SAT scores was an 800!!! yes an 800! his overall GPA was a 2.8 or lower than that!!! I was shocked!!!!

wow what was special about him?

nothing really not that i know of

Maybe Cornell messed up the paperwork. When I was at Cornell they either my information wrong or lost my paperwork altogether.

in that case crazy i dont believe you haha

i couldnt believe it myself!!!! I saw the letter and everything the only thing i could think of was that he improved his gpa from like high 1 something and he attended upward bound( a summer enrichment program) throughout high school.

sorry I can't believe you.

??? I wouldn't have believed either if you had told me someone like that applied to Cornell.

haha lol @ twitb

You know, there are two Cornells, it's probably the other one...well, you're probably making that up, but if not (a big if, at that), it's obviously not the Cornell in Ithaca, NY. I doubt anyone has gotten in with under an 1100, and very few with under 1200.

i know what cornell did:
they thought he only filled out one second of his score and it's 800, so they assumed the other half is 800 as well, giving him 1600. and since his GPA is low, he probably doesn't have the best penmanship, so to match the 1600, the officer probably that that was a 3.9 rather than a 2.8. so with that kind of stats, he was accepted :)

^ Assuming that Cornell is ran by someone who got an 800 with a 2.8 GPA

ED tends to have a more competitive pool than RD, and they accept a lot of the stronger applicant (obviously so they wouldn't go somewhere else) so for someone with an 800 and 2.8ish gpa to get in is extremely incredulous. that person would have a very hard time at cornell as we are known to be the HARDEST school to get out of. now for someone to have gotten into harvard with that score...but i won't go there. my point is that that person either improved significantly (unlikely with that SAT score) or is going to cornell college. we aren't going to accept anyone who's a high risk to drop out...waste of $ and a spot.

my .02

I think that guys dad must have donated a building or something!! That'll get you into Cornell (maybe)

crazykidwanabe = liar

liar = crazykidwanabe

I don't think it's possible either... my friend was recruited as a student athlete, but they rejected him the day after they received his SAT score. (which was between 800-900). I scored 1170 and I'm on the line ( got recruited too ) so I don't think it's possible...

Ask the kid which college he got into... $20 says he can't even name one of the seven.

He was probaby accepted to Cornell College, the school in Iowa

it was cornell university!!!! and i am not lying! why would i lie?!

Haha, that's cool. I personally believe you because as far as I am concerned, if they are dumb enough to admit a lil 1100 EASY ASS CLASS TAKING student from my school, I believe that they are on crack and truly will admit ANYONE...but me, of course. :p
