<p>Ask your science teachers. Ask science academics that you or your family knows. HS Students generally obtain a junior position with a larger, ongoing study that has funding. An interviewee who placed nationally in the Siemens competition spent his junior year with two other students reading through medical/science journals. They found several being conducted at nearby universities and contacted the head researcher via email. They made proposals and were welcomed into a medical study. It formed the nucleus of his winning Siemens project.</p>
