Independent status??

<p>If I am to get in as a spring admit will I be able to get independent staus?
I am planning to get married this summer. So if I get in for the fall I don't think it would work. Actually I am not sure. The guideline is:</p>

<p>At the time you complete your FAFSA, and at the time of entry to USC, you are married.</p>

<p>My FASFA is currently "complete" there is always information I think I could add to it so it is more complete I would say. You can always change/fix your fasfa. Would I be able to do it? And by the time of entry? What does that mean?</p>

<p>When are you applying to USC, when are you planning to attend if admitted, and when are you getting married?</p>

<p>I am planning to get married July 23rd. I want hope to be accepted into USC for the fall of this year or spring of next year.</p>

<p>Still confusing. Have you already been accepted? Admission for fall and spring is closed unless you have had contact from the University telling you otherwise. Admission for fall 2013 will open in August. You would be considered independent due to marraige for fall 2013.</p>

<p>What he said. The application deadline for this fall was like six months ago and accepted students have already been informed.</p>

<p>kagw11 - since you have already applied, you probably did so as a dependent student so call or email financial aid and ask now - you don’t have to wait until you receive the acceptance. They will be happy to give you an answer.</p>

<p>Sorry for the confusion. Yes I am a transfer. I am still awaiting my decision from USC.</p>
