I asked my guidance counselar and he said if i took any AP Exams independently, they would not go with my transcript for admissions in colleges. I would only get a credit for those courses taken. Is this true? So if i take 2 independent APs. The college wont even knw i did them independently when looking at my application?

They will see it if you took the AP test.

When you report the scores they'll see it and know you self studied it.

Do i report the scores at the time of applying?

You'd list them in the honors/awards section, along with whatever AP Award you got for them - its good to have the AP award because that clearly shows u took more APs by self study if you only took a few AP Classes.

I think they're very valuble in admissions, and those ppl who say "oh well u dont officially report em so they cant be important" are idiots, because you dont "Officially report" your AMC Scores, Extracurricular activities or national awards such as Intel and SIemens either, but they are just as if not more important than your reported SATs

Lot's of the supplements ask for AP test scores/AP tests you're going to take.

If you list one that you're not in the class for, it's obvious you self-studied for it.

they see the scores that u send and if they dont see that u took a class, theyll know that u studied independently for it

alrite thanks ppl.
