Independent Study for AP Literature

I am a junior, but I found out that I am going to have to graduate this year. However, I would still like to get in four years of English. I am in AP Language now, but would it be possible for me to take the AP lit exam at the end of the year along with the AP lang exam? I know that lit might be harder, but I would be willing to read some novels and do an independent study if this is doable.

I’m a sophomore and I’m wondering this too. Hopefully someone can help.

I took the test last year as a junior after taking an IB English class that had no relation to the AP curriculum. If you’re well-read, articulate, can write in a limited amount of time, and did well on the CR section of the SAT, you’ll be fine. I got a 5 with very little prep (just reviewing the plot/themes of a few books on Sparknotes).

You definitely should be able to do so. Buy a practice book, Kaplan, Princeton Review, etc., and look over past tests to get a good grasp on the test format. Review poetry terms, as that will be most different from AP Lang. Other than that, ensure that you have read 2-4 books that are highly merited, they will be listed on the past tests on collegeboard.com.
If you can do AP Lang, AP Lit should be fine, just a little harder. Good luck!
