Hi guys,
Well I’m applying to the following universities :-
University of Toronto
McGill university
University of Waterloo
University of British Columbia
University of Victoria
York university
Wilfred Laurier university
Stanford university
UCLA
UC,Berkeley
UC, San Diego
NYU
Boston uni
My SAT and IELTS scores are awaited.
My score in the Indian curriculum is as follows :-
10th grade - 8.8 CGPA
( Maths - 10
Science - 9
Social science - 9
English - 9
French - an awful 7 )
11th grade - 85.8%
Maths - 83
Accounts - 89
Economics - 89
Business studies - 95
English - 73 ( the teacher literally hates me )
Now, in 12th half yearly, to be precise, I screwed up.
I scored 68% in half yearly.
I’m planning to do a major in business administration or economics or mathematics.
Or a double major in business administration and economics/maths wita minor in maths/ Eco. Tho I don’t know how to declare one. And, I really need help for the application process.
My extracurricular activities are almost none.
In sports, I’ve been the wicket keeper of my school cricket team for the past 4 years, so I have a few sports achievements.
I’d really appreciate any advice I could get.
Please chance me as well. Thanks a lot.
do I really stand a chance in these top tier universities?
I would re-post when you have your SAT results back.
canadian universities only use grade 11 marks for early acceptance. The business programs you applied to are competitive: rotman commerce (toronto) has a cutoff of 88 i believe (well known world wide), waterloo doesnt have a bba, they have an accounting program which is one of the best but they look at extracurriculars which will place you at a disadvantage (since you have none), mcgill and schulich needs a 90% MINIMUM average and wilfrid laurier needs an 87.5% minimum average but they have an optional supplemental application that can add up to 3% to your average. Good luck bro
Stanford, UCLA, and UCB are all nonstarters if that 68% is being sent to colleges.
Although given the $55,000 tuition at the UCs (and little to no financial aid for out-of-state students) your may end up better off somewhere else in any case.
Do u need FA? Can u afford UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, NYU, BU as a fullpay?
International tuition in business at McGill is $40,000/year and no merit aid with your stats.
Your chances for American universities like NYU, UCs, Boston University, and Stanford are almost zero because you don’t have extracurriculars. You’re aiming too high. I can’t chance for Canadian universities as I don’t know much about their admission process.
Well, I’m an optimist so I’ll apply even if my chances are below 1%
As for my SAT score, I scored 2050 ( M:740, W:670, R:640) and my ielts score was 7.5 ( L:8.5,R:7.5,W:7.0,S:7.5).
My predicted result for class 12th is between 83-93%( based on percentile).
Sorry for responding a bit late
