Indian High School "Average" Student for MIT!!!

Okay. Here’s i am, feeling depressed about my grades, which are 7, 7.2 and 6 in my first 3 years of my high school, and right now reading in Senior year. No, these are indian CGPAs. Unlike of GPAs, these CGPAs are run over scale of 10. These grades do make me feel low, whenever i stare at them. But a kind of jest do i feel when i look at my SAT Score. It’s 2280. I wanna join MIT. Can i see myself attending class in MIT? I have also heard that MIT takes Indian Olympiad Winners blindly. Is this true? Please, any reply will be really thankful.

Indeed, i also require scholarship, or any financial help.

MIT takes about 4 students from India each year. Four. They don’t take anyone “blindly” .

From MIT’s website:

Unfortunately, high SAT scores are not enough as admissions is quite competitive internationally. Lots of 2300s-2400s get rejected, as there simply isn’t enough space.

You should ask yourself this.

no with grades like that man, i dont think you should aim for Mit. I am an international indian student and if you’re CBSE grades are that low when they get equated your application will not get a second look. I suggest that you plan to take Sat subject tests as well and improve your grades in your final year and then apply to less selective colleges. Heard University of Alabama gives good international scholarships especially with stats like yours.

Op, I scored 9.8/10 in 9th and 10th, 96% in 11th, 97.6% in 12th. I used my toefl instead of ielts I’m which I scored 114/120. I was ranked 1st in my class. My SAT 2 was a perfect score. I even sent some research that I did on circuits. I got rejected at MIT. If stats could get people into MIT, there would be so many who can get in. One has to be pretty special to get into MIT that too from India or even from any part of the world. You definitely have to get your grades up. Imo sat 2 matters more than sat 1. Do something special if you even want a chance. Because honestly, you aren’t a very competitive applicant.
