College List:
Duke
UNC-CH
Johns Hopkins
NC State
Virginia Tech
Princeton
Cornell

I plan on double majoring in Math and Biomedical Engineering; maybe minor in Spanish. Would it raise my chances to pick an engineering discipline that is not so competitive? (Mainly at Duke and JHU)
Also, are my SAT and SAT II's competitive or should I plan to retake them?
Should I specify my race on my application? Is there any disadvantage not to?

Do I have a chance anywhere on my list?

I forgot to mention that I do play club soccer. I have been playing for about 10-11 years. I currently play for TFC in Raleigh, NC and participate in Super Y (also for TFC). I do not plan to be recruited at any of the schools except maybe JHU.

I would say you could definitely get into VirginiaTech, just based on the semi-morons from my school that somehow get in there...

thanks tawny, that's one of my safties

Are you Indian as in native american or Indian as in desi, cuz if you're desi then Wow! Varsity soccer not bad :D

haha, im indian as in desi, my mother and father are from india.

I am also taking one more AP senior year, I think it is Chemistry

IMO

Don't count on(huge reach): Princeton
you'll be considered at(reach): duke hopkins Cornell
you're in at(match): UNC ch
No question(safety): vatech
I wouldn't even apply(not that great of a school IMO): NC state

thanks uvajoe, is there anything i could do in the fall to improve my chances?

For Princeton you could have your parents donate a few million dollars. LOL.

Def. get to know your GC very well, for me they were SOOOOOO helpful. Make sure your recs are very detailed, and your essays are unique. For the ivies, duke, and JHU you need to be distinctive. Good LUck.

you'll be perfect for umich as well
its engineering school is ranked 7th

good luck!

UMich, I hadnt thought about that, thanks Daze and uvajoe
How do I get to know my counselor? I dont really have casual conversations with him. I have only talked to the man 6 or 7 times.

its ok, the six or seven times would have given your counselor a good picture of who you are.......dont worry

Phew, I hope so, how important is the guidance counselors rec?
Can anyone answer the questions I posed in the bottom of my first post?

hey im indian too :)

haha, cool

i am indian too!

we're EVERYWHERE haha

Can anyone answer my questions:
Would it raise my chances to pick an engineering discipline that is not so competitive? (Mainly at Duke and JHU)
Also, are my SAT and SAT II's competitive or should I plan to retake them?
Should I specify my race on my application? Is there any disadvantage not to?

Also, more evaluations would be welcome.

anyone? please
