Indian International: Help needed in filling up Common Application SSR

Hi, I am an International Student studying in the Indian System [ISC Board]. I have problems filling up the Common Application Secondary School Report [I know it is for Counselors, but I am just guiding them since they have no clue].

How do I fill up the Current Year Courses part? We have a single examination at the end of the year [Standardised Examination all over India] so it is not a Semester system.

For GPA, do I just enter my percentage? And does it become weighted or unweighted? What about the rank? Weighted or unweighted?

For the question - "In comparison with other college preparatory students at your school, the applicant’s course selection is:" What do I enter? Its the same for all Science Stream students all over India.

For the SSR report, if I send it to my counselor online, would it require his/her signature?

How do I send the International SSR to the counselor? I don't see an option.

For the International SSR Supplement, they mentioned that I needed to submit my Lower Secondary Report. Does this include just my 10th Grade results or is 11th and 9th Grade included?

Am I on the right track in the first place?

Does the application deadline apply to the sending of transcripts and SSR as well? My school counselor is away and won't be back till Jan. Will they consider my circumstance?

God damn, it sucks to be an International

yar same here
i m a pakistani.
pta nai kya karain ge.
any ideas

Hi, I hope this information helps you out:

Current Year Courses: List all the courses you are taking and put the same list for both semesters (kids here do the same since the courses are mostly year-long)

GPA: They should attach an official transcript. Some schools here give percentages too, so that's fine. Put "unweighted"; "weighted" refers to courses that are assigned a greater "weight" because they are college level---basically advanced placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) classes.

In comparison with other college preparatory students at your school, the applicant’s course selection is: Ask your school guidance department to attach a letter or sheet explaining about your school. Is it a school known for being a very difficult, rigorous program? Even if the courses are the same, perhaps you are taking the classes at a higher level than some of your peers. It helps the colleges to know what type of school you are coming out of, unless it's like a really famous school already. Does it send lots of kids to IIT, etc. Plus even in India there is some slight variation in difficulty of the curriculum from school to school.

Lower Secondary Report: Basically in the U.S. you send grades 9-12.

Typically in the U.S. we hand the SSR to the counselor. They can fax it to the school directly that you are applying to, or mail it if you have time directly from the school (they don't want it coming from you). Sign the waiver about seeing the form according to your preference, and have them fill up the rest.

Best option for any other question is to contact the schools via email.

I hope this helps!
