<p>I got admitted to UCSB for this Fall and I had a few questions. I'm Asian Indian and I'm really worried about the culture shock next year. I'm definitely not racist but I'm just wondering if there are a lot of Asian Indian people there? I know UCI has a lot but again, just curious.</p>

<p>There are mainly caucasian people there. I’m asian myself and I’m probably going there for sure but i dont believe I’m going to experience a “culture shock” since everyone will probably find a way to blend into their surroundings one way or another, whether it be through friends or simply getting the chance to know your roommate better. Perhaps if you’re going there we might meet each other :D</p>

<p>There’s a good number of Asian Indians there, but nowhere near UCI level.</p>
<p>The diversity at sb is about the same is the overall in California. We are definitely not lacking in Asians or Indians. There are definitely not as many as other UCs and we have more Hispanics/ latinos than other UCs and not very many african americans. I definitely don’t think youre gonna go Ono culure shock it’s not like we have aliens. No one really cares what you are and there are a lot of groups like the Vietnamese student association and Indus.</p>
<p>Don’t worry about it, I’m Indian as well and I’m most likely going to to SB too. Here, look at this. Scroll down to page 25 and you can see the breakdown. </p>

<p>SB definitely has a low amount of Indians in its school compared to other UC’s but there still are many. Don’t worry, you’ll meet plenty of Indians and adapt to the cultural breakdown there. And if you ever need an Indian friend just hit me up haha.</p>
<p>There is a VERY small amount of Indians at my school and i’m fine with that. You’ll adapt to wherever you go. Are you an international student by any chance?</p>

<p>Don’t worry about standing out! That’s a good thing in everyone else’s eyes!
