Indian post

HAHA all you losers. I'm the original mean guy, okay? No contests.

I hvae a btter idea...Why dont us guys write a book on college admissions from the Indian point of view??

merc I'm sorry you've been ousted from your post. You're just no match for adi when it comes to the snide comment, the biting sarcasm, the witty retort or just plain good ol' b i t c hiness.

Adi's meanness has this free flowing, breezy quality. It's 100% natural.
SP on the other hand just tries too hard. And you PV are just not consistent enough. It isn't a part of your personality the way its a part of adi's.
Sorry guys, this is a landslide victory for him :D

:D :) thx such. thts the best thing ne1 has ever said about me. owe u 1 - m sure will get ample of opportunities @ princeton ;)

Wow that's a fabulous idea! I see a lot of scope for a book like that. I can almost see it now. It could be like, a collection of articles. I could do the bit about how a slacker did it (if I indeed manage to 'do it'), and about beating deadlines. hello could write about tech schools. adides could give dirt about the many schools he's researched into. merc, well, could write about his experiences with applying as a gap year guy. ritz, on 'how i got into harvard', with comments from akash. sucharita i dunno. and we could collaboratively have a list on why opt for US. and write some other stuff collaboratively, like, umm, getting the system here to work for our applications.

enough for now! i leave. catch ya guys later

That's a brilliant idea (no sarcasm). Infact I already wrote a loong webpage on the application process for my website (which should be up soon).

well... its a gr8 idea, but many such books are already out there - so the question i would pose is
"how will our book distinguish from the dozens already in existence"

my older bro and his friends wrote a report for our old school on admissions in the US and tht was pretty good. I have used their report extensively for all of my apps...

Nobody has written one for Indians

I'll write the section on how I'm the kid who always did everything right and still got rejected everywhere :(

thts true...
but still we should look at any 'US admissions' book as our competition and try to have enuf distinguishing factors. ofcourse, the biggest 1 being tht its for indians only.
marketability of this book will be also impacted on where we all get admitted (no1 wants to read a book by a some1 who wasnt able to get admitted to one of the top schools..so lets keep our fingers crossed)

Because it will be written for Indians, and by Indian students just like us. It will cover a LOT of viewpoints (just look at how scattered we are - Delhi, Cal, Bbay, Patna, even Korea, US etc.)

And another factor is that all of us have actually gone thru the process, trying to make everything work (like getting recs out of teachers) - we can write about practical stuff instead of all the fluff that half the "Alumni" books have.

yeah and we can talk about the pressure of applying to US schools while trying to fulfil social obligations like IIT

and work for respectable board exam scores (and dont u all also have to attend school??)

Yeah, while we are on this idea, wat say we start our own college consulting company?

Ritz and Sucharita can work on essays,Adides and I can do college placement advice ,merc and astrix can fill up their forms online and do research on the univs and so on

seriously, i think this is a viable biz plan - atleast for this comin summer (will also give me a reason to not attend the cookin classes tht my parents plan to enforce on me...)

such can advice on SATs as well and act as our Business Manager to keep all of us straight. not much diff from her role here on cc

Oh ,Ritz and I(to a certain extent) can teach evryone cooking also as a part of this business

The SAT has changed. As a relult my advice will be totally obsolete
Business manager??? Youre talking to the most financially inept person on the face of this earth!

well, let alone the finance part. i really believe tht u can direct a herd like us in the right direction... i can handle finances (gujju blood)

Well I've become the unofficial college consultant of Patna anyway...... Are you guys serious? We can actually get this off the ground if we try...
