APPEAL TO MODS

Moderators, pls dont delete any of out posts here.We are all competing for the Meanest Poster Title here.None of us find each others posts as rude or offensive, merely amusing.

akash youre not winning anyway.

You may be slightly self congratulatory :p but you're not mean.

noww that was a truly offensive post

OH,just let me reveal my inherent meanness to you,.as OOL ,merc and evn Ritz can already vouch for

OOL has vowed not to visit CC for the next 2 months after she got her pre board results today and somehow I don't think the topic will come up when I meet her in person.

ritz just doesn't log in often enough and in any case, seems way too nice to run other people down.

merc? now that's a definite possibility.
merc- what examples can you give to prove akash's inherent meanness?

sorry for the 'truly offensive post' if you found it truly offensive. jk anyway

SP has asked me to tell you guys that if for some reason you want to say something to him you should pm him since he can't post for 7 days :p

coz of TOS viol? haha awesome.

yes coz of tos violation :p

SP: hint hint

SP: nudge nudge

ritz - i am serious about the business idea as well and I also believe tht the profits should go to a worthy cause like you had suggested...
i will draft something for the idea and post it over here to take the next step...

The worthy cause should be us ,U know.Unlike Ritz, who gets a full ride to Harvard,we all (atlaest me) will have to pay through our noses for a US education.Lets repay our debt to our parentd first, then think of others. After all, charity does begin at home.

Also, has anybody read the Cuckold by Kiran nagarkar?

Unless I get a full ride, there's no question of my getting a US education.

So yeah I can afford to agree with adi and ritz-I think the profits should be used to educate those kids who can't afford an education otherwise. Or any other charity :)

Please see below my SUGGESTIONS for our organization. These are suggestions to get the ball rolling. I would recommend using this as a FORM to submit further suggestions. Please copy paste. Thanks

Name of the organization (please limit your suggestion to two names):

Type of organization: equal split partnership registered in Delaware, USA.

I have started three companies, one in India, US and the UK each and trust me; it is much easier to have a company incorporated in the US.

Partners will have discretion over their share of net profits, which will be paid out on monthly basis. Partnership profit split will be evaluated on monthly basis to determine partners’ contribution to the organization and the split will be adjusted accordingly. Partners will be responsible for attracting and retaining ‘student clients’ and will be able to leverage our organization’s network of successful applicants.

Bankers: ICICI NRE account with multiple POA (power of attorneys)

People and locations:

Akash – Noida
Ritz – Delhi
Sucharita – Culcutta
Gandalf – Lucknow / Bombay
S (Astrix) – Patna ?? (after April)
Adi – Bombay
A (Hello) – Dubai and Central Asia
PV (Merc) - ??
SP (cops) – Far East Asia

Sorry, if I missed any1.

Please list your strengths (likings) and weaknesses (dislikings). Please ensure to cover topics essential to the admission process like SAT preparation, Essay writing, School Research, Resume writing, application package etc.

The Process:

All partners will be responsible for attracting and retaining ‘student clients’. Firm’s marketing department will devise an overall firm wide marketing plan and provide the partners will necessary supporting marketing material. Ideal market would be 11th grade students.

Once a new ‘student client’ walks into the office, he/she will be asked to fill an extensive form enlisting the client’s academic and extra-curricular accomplishment. This form will be filled online by the client (or the partner in-charge) and sent to rest of the partners, who will discuss and come to consensus about the client’s potential and also predetermine at least 6 schools (2 safety, 2 ideal and 2 reach). The partner in-charge of that client will have the final discretion on any matter for that student.

This step might not be prudent, knowing that we are in India for another 7 months only. But anyways - The SAT teaching team will get into action and start prepping the client on SAT preparation. Most of this education can be done online using our organization’s portal, where the client can chat with the SAT tutor (partner).

Once, the SAT scores are out – all partners will handle their respective part about final college selection, assisting in essays, resume writing, college counseling, college relationships, etc.

Cost:

To balance our ‘perceived inexperience’, I’d propose to have a stage-wise fee schedule where a student can avail any part of our service or the whole package.

For example:

Whole package: Rs. 4000

OR

SAT Guidance and preparation: Rs. 1500
Essay guidance: Rs. 1500
Resume writing: Rs. 500
College counseling: Rs. 1000
Application package: Rs. 1000

Ugh. I thought we were writing a book? I'm sorry, but I'd only be interested in writing an aricle or two / editing in a collaborative venture, but not servicing student clients :(

And I'm from Gurgaon, which is near Delhi

If we are writing a book, then please just fill in the strengths and weaknesses part of the post and the chapters that you would like to write...
sorry for the confusion...

On second thoughts, I'm okay with it.

Strengths: FAQ's, font advice for 'student clients' (:p), and I can help design the website
Weaknesses: as far as knowledge about the application process goes, I can't think of any. my persoal application, now that's another matter

Why do we need a physical presence? I don't get the whole deal about a student walking in. Can't we just solicit and offer all services online :)

And I don't think we should do SAT prep.

Haha you just had to post when I changed my mind :)

no I think SAT prep is fine-primarily because SAT verbal is the only strength I can think of.

weaknesses- a complete lack of financial acumen and a tendency to stress myself out over the smallest issues. I'm pretty neurotic.
