<p>Hi everyone, I'm new to this website and I've received my ACT scores just now. I was sorta disappointed, although I only know my ACT composite. Suddenly, all my colleges seem like FAR FAR reaches.</p>

SAT 2: Physics 800
Math 2C 800
Writing 760</p>
<p>extra-curricular: pretty decent, national awards in two fields, computer, and public speaking. One of the two student editors of school magazine, and leader of school public speaking society.
complication: I transferred school in the middle of the year, so my rank was initially 1 of 15, and now is 5 of 220.</p>

I am also applying for Financial Aid, but i'm willing to pay about 50-75%.
Please evaluate my colleges, either by reach/match/safety or percentage chances. I'm worried sick, maybe I should've applied more places.</p>

<p>I think you have a fair chance at all these schools. Caltech does tend to focus more in math/science activities, so they might want to see more 'olympaid' like activities, but that is the only 1 that is like tht. I would be surprised if gtech, utaustin, ucsd are not excited to get your app. for the rest - i think you have good scores, good ecs, so it is not your app tht will make it or break it - but apps of other people (it is a relative process...)</p>
<p>find aid - gtech dont offer fin aid, i think. Cornell's stingy, duke has special process for intl applyin for fin aid, so keep tht in consideration.</p>

I think my ACT score will really pull me down, should I take SAT 1 in Jan?
I had no time earlier, because I woke up in November. I am registered for SAT 2 for Jan 22, and i am planning to get it changed to SAT 1. ACT was worse than I expected, I ran out of time through the readin section.</p>
<p>not an expert, so dont know about sat 1. but if u have time, surely yes coz ur sat2 are awesome and a good sat1 wont hurt. Remember, most colls wont accept jan scores, but for those that do - it will be a good addition.</p>
