I had a dartmouth interview last week - was awesome. the advisor to the school board who's helping me in my company was talking to him about me before saying all these wonderful things...i just hope he does that for my pton interviewer... :) It was so funny - as soon as i spoke my first sentence, he was like - "YOU CAN SPEAK GOOD ENGLISH!!! WOW!!!" i was totally confused, till my GC said that all the koreans whom he interviewed before all were fumbling and couldnt speak straight. Guess it's lucky to be a foreigner in korea ;) btw what accent do you guys have?

hmm. all of u who got Pton interviews, what did they ask you?

ahem..so much of controversy over a 'give' i used..i appologise..so how many of u are going to TAKE the CET???as in how many non-karantakans are gonna take the CET???...i am gettin a dual opinion abt it...sme say its not worth taking for non-karanatakans..some say to giv it a try???......

i'm a non-karnatakan (heh i like that) and i'll prolly be giving/taking it. dunno how much of a point there is to it tho, i know i get to go to bangalore :p

mine just asked me about ecs and and my prospective major. He would have asked why pton but didnt have to since I started talking about it anyway :p

Rest of it was just a casual conversation about different things

haha i like the "YOU CAN SPEAK GOOD ENGLISH! WOW!!" SP. sadly not likely to happen here. dunno about the accent, i don't have a fake american one unlike some people i know tho.

ummm tough question. I can only answer that by elimination. Not Bong, not Tamil, not what Calcutta would call 'the marwari accent'
Not British, not American, not Aussie.
Uh... NDTV 24/7 newsreader accent maybe? :p

I was kidding about that! Its just that some people in my school talk like they've stepped right out from some news channel and sometimes it gets on my nerves.

NDTV accent is nice and solid...i actually quite like that...I think accent much depends on the exposure ie in school and abroad, or with people who speak good/bad english. i never lived in india, so its not "indian", its just mixed. My darmouth interviewer kinda showed that he didnt really fancy korean mispronunciations and the heavy indian accent...i feel sorry for all those indians and and east asians gettin interviews with crappy accents...

LOL. i simply hate tamil newsreaders, those subs who are there temporarily on Sun or Jaya tv attempting to speak english after ESL classes...they **** me off so much
