Hi i am an indian student who will be applying next year to the states for under grad, pfa my stats and suggest good and reputed unis for cs major (will probably do a minor in business):
SAT first attempt: 1310
SAT second attempt yet to give : expected 1420+
class 10: 85.8%
class 11: 58.4%
class 12 expected: 90-95%

  1. Shanghai International Youth Science and Technology Expo held at Shanghai ; 70+
    teams from over 36 countries; fully sponsored by Chinese Government.
    Positions held:
    • First position for “Showcase of students’ scientific creation work”
    • Second position for “On spot bridge creation design using styrofoam
  1. Self-designed mobile application selected for IBM Sustainable Development Goals Hackathon (1M1B); among top 15 teams in India; awarded best app design and idea.: Project MediCab- a mobile application aimed at providing access of medicines to the rural population.
  2. Central Board of Secondary Education Science seminar; first position; theme: “A better India through Technology”
  3. Founder of Project R12: A youth project aimed at providing the 12 basic rights of a child to every child in India; also interned at CRY India’s biggest child rights association.

This sounds low to me. What was your estimated class rank?

Do you need financial aid? If so how much?

Hi, I am also Indian and according to me, your academics are a bit low but your extra curricular and awards are really really good, i think if you study for the SAT with full determination and get a 1500 or a 1550+ your application can be very catchy moreover, do try to get good letter of recommendations and really work hard on your essays. Best of luck

Will you be full pay?

I would be applying for merit scholarship and aid as well

You need to find schools in the Southern and midwestern states who would be willing to fund you. Since you are looking for merit and other aid, your chances at the top schools are very diminished.

EC’s don’t make up for GPA.

GPA will be extremely important to the schools. If your GPA is not there, the funding will not be there and you will be paying full fees.

While applying you can send an addtional letter of recommendation either from Lokesh Chugh or Jyoti of Uthan. If you get a top-notch recommendation showcasing your leadership qualities and CS skills, you may increase your chances. Not garaunteed though.
