"Freshman will live on either State Quad or Indian Quad. Indian Quad is 100% freshman, and State is mostly freshman and sophmores. State Quad dorm rooms have a common room and a common bathroom. Indian Quad dorm rooms have a very small common area with a bathroom OR without a bathroom, and some have NO common area and NO bathroom. If you do not have a suite bathroom, you will use a community bathroom located on your floor. Don't worry, the community bathrooms are cleaned daily, and the suit bathroom are cleaned about every two weeks."

So which freshman dorm is better?

I’m going to go for Indian. I feel like there would be a lot of BS from sophmores you might have to deal with. Also you get to meet more people in Indian.

I lived on State my first year and I really liked it. It seems a lot better then Indian and you won’t even notice who’s a sophomore and who’s not so don’t worry about that. State also seems to be more mature because of having the honors housing, LLCs, athletes, and a few older students as compared to all freshman on Indian.

Indian Pros:
-larger dining hall
-better gym

State Pros:
-honors housing
-more LLC’s (living learning communities)
-closer to bus stop for Walmart/The Mall/main busses.
-closer to Sunoco across the street which has a Subway inside.
-bathrooms right in your suite, way better then having it down the hall.

So it’s all about what you prefer. And then once you pick a quad you have to decide if you want to live in a low rise or the tower. Low rises are better in my opinion, you won’t have to deal with constant fire alarms and waiting for/riding the elevator everyday.

By the way I forgot to mention about next year (2012-2013). State Quad will be entirely freshman next year, and on Indian Quad the entire tower will be closed for renovations. Jus wanted to point that out.
