@hadmeathello There are non-SSA scholarships. The achievement scholarships, for example.
@itsgettingreal17 Thanks. It’s been a while since I looked at the details. I guess I thought those were all under the SSA, but I see they’re not. Good luck everybody!
We are out of state. The acceptance to kelley Direct was via email. The status box on the iu site never changed. It continues to show the major he intended… The box did not change before or after the Kelley notice. I am told that Merit achievement money does not happen for a while. Perhaps as late as early december…SSA is a different scholarship. The merit one that we are all waiting for has ranged up to 11k for OOS students. The SSA is a wide variety of different scholarships, tied to colleges, service, and other criteria…
@BigPapiofthree I’ve heard a few different things. Achievement Scholarship page says the following:
So, hopefully for those who got things in early it will be well before December.
@hadmeathello, I like that. the sooner the better…
I thought the merit awards like the Dean’s or Provost was awarded sooner but the SSA’s were the ones that you had to wait on until February or so. We are In State so our range on the Provost is $1k - $8k. I just haven’t seen anything that tells me where my D falls in that range.
@dcolosi That’s my understanding of how it works.
Just got in tonight!
I applied October 6th and they got my transcripts on the 20th so it took about a week! I checked my IU status and it changed from completed to congradualtions (and I checked this morning so this literally just happened).
In case anyone wants my stats,
Weighted GPA: 3.64
ACT: 30
lots of extracurriculars and good essays
so excited to be accepted!
D received mail today containing Dean’s Scholarship.
- Applied OOS 9/20
- Accepted 10/11
- Dean's Scholly 10/27
@hadmeathello Congrats to your D!!!
I am an OOS applicant from Maryland and applied EA to IU Bloomington.
- Applied: October 14
- Accepted: October 28
- Program: BSAHS in Youth Development (School of Public Health)
- UW GPA: 3.79
- ACT: 29
I’m so excited that I have at least one option now!! Still waiting for three more decisions from colleges- two private universities and one public in-state LAC.
DS sent his application on Oct 21 and got an acceptance email yesterday. So, exactly 1 week interval.
Sent in application Oct 20th and got accepted today
My OOS state son was admitted a few weeks ago. He hasn’t yet completed the SSA, but he received a letter today offering merit aid of $11,000 per year. Does anyone know if he could still get more merit aid when he completes the SSA, or is this likely the extent of it?
He can get more through the SSA.
Sent in application on 24/10, completed application on 28/10.
Got accepted today.
S just accepted. Application completed 11/1. OOS 3.5 GPA 31 ACT
just wanted to post for some perspective:

about a week or two after accepted I received a letter from the office of scholarships with notification that I was being offered the Dean’s Scholarship and was granted $7,000 a year for four years – didn’t send in any extra scholarship app, this was just from stats only on my application
good luck to everyone who is still waiting or hoping for scholarships!!!
Applied around 10/25-27, haven’t got the decision yet.
They did ask for my mark sheet of 10th grade again recently(idk why… I sent them all my mark sheets in the mail) and asked a update in time after graduation and a bit time before graduation. I updated those section in my master checklist again due to that. I wonder if anyone from my time of form submission heard something from University.
International applicant.
Should I be worried or contact admission office?
@harshwardhan2554 what are your Stats? Hard to tell without knowing those. What does your online portal say as well? Does it show that everything has been received? The portal should give you a good idea of any outstanding items and if you are under review yet.
