Indiana Decision Fall 2019

@Juan3405 - I wish I did have some advice. My D had higher and lower status that others accepted before her - we are OOS if that has anything to do with it? Just be patient! I know that’s not exactly what you want to hear

I received an email from the admissions office saying that they reviewed my application but want me to send new SAT scores. I called them and asked for a course of action, they told me I can submit a statement saying I don’t wish to retest. I sent it along with my first quarter report card grades (All A’s). Has anyone received this current or past? If so did you get in?

OOS
Male
GPA: 3.62
SAT: 1100
Good extra-curriculars and sports
College Prep School

My son (Ohio resident) received acceptance from IU 2 weeks back. Yesterday he received acceptance from Kelley.

Hi, @lkomason when did your son apply to IU?

He applied on Oct 23

Thanks @Mominmich. We pretty much check that every day and we’re so tired of seeing the same page with no changes. LOL Just wanted to make sure that we were checking the right portal.

My daughter received the same messaging update on yesterday. I have requested for her counselor to submit her first grade report for this semester. She is retaking the SAT on tomorrow, but I feel with the rigor of her coursework (She is in an Academic Math and Science Magnet Program) and her overall profile- she is a good candidate for her requested program. Her scored a 1120 on the SAT and a 23 on the ACT; not high but ok scores considering her issues with test anxiety.

@davidtl Any luck with the Indiana decision yet? I applied Nov.1 still haven’t got anything.

*Correction/Typo. “She” scored an 1120 on the SAT and 23 on the ACT…

@Juan3405 NOTHING. Checking every day and getting the same ole screen. Applied on 11-1 as well.

Applied: Oct.12
Decision: 12/1

Accepted OOS
Direct Admit into Kelley and Honors College
Guaranteed Dean’s Scholarship (but finalist for Wells Scholarship)
ACT: 32
GPA: 4.41
Legacy
Lots of EC’s and volunteer work

My son received the Deans scholarship and invited to apply for the SSA scholarships.

What is the amount of the SSA merit awards? There are a lot more essays plus MORE recommendation letters (really? Weren’t the ones in the common app enough Indiana?). We’re out of state and unless they’re another $10k per year he’s going to skip it.

@Juan3405 just checked and it says “Congratulations you’ve been admitted…”
Might want to check yours out.

Just received acceptance via online portal. When do you think I should be hearing back from Kelley? Do you think I will get direct admit?

OOS
Applied: Oct 31
Accepted: Dec 4
SAT: 1380 (superscore)
GPA: 3.85 (weighted)

According to IU’s website, direct admit requires 1380 (superscored) and a 3.8 Weighted so you are good!

I just got admitted to IU! Even though it was a safety, I’m still quite happy! Can anyone give me some insight as to how the scholarship process works? What is the SSA, and when is it due? Thanks for the help!

The SSA is due early January (15th I think), and depending on what school you’re in, you are considered for even more scholarship money. If you’re in Hutton, the earlier you submit your application, the better.

I received an acceptance letter via email on November 21, they said I’ll receive my official acceptance letter through mail but I haven’t received anything yet, is it normal?

Does Indiana send you an email or do they just randomly update the portal?

I’m also wondering how much the SSA Merit awards are – we were very happy to receive a Dean’s Scholarship (we are out of state) - but unless the SSA is a significant amount we might skip it…Does anyone know? I think I saw the range is in the $1000-2000.
