What dorms are recommended for freshmen Kelley School of Business students?

From what I see, choose the Northwest neighborhood. It sounds like the most fun place (if you like to party), and it’s really close to the business school.

It depends upon you. There are Co-Ops that allow you to get a cheap rate to live in a little bit of crappy conditions as return for once a week chore duty.

Central: Typically what most call normal. large amount of Freshmen and relatively cheap. Close to Kelley. You won’t really notice any difference in distance between this and Northwest personally. This is my recommendation.

Northwest: Very disruptive and tends to be more expensive than central. Full of freshmen but not my recommendation if you are a little bit less party and more serious.(Still plenty of options to have fun while living anywhere on campus) If you are lucky enough to get into the Kelley LLC, then I would take Northwest.

SouthEast: Not my recommendation for a business major. Very out of the way for Kelley.

Please know that, Freshmen year won’t require classes in Kelley. Possibly maybe just 2. I was able to pick many of my classes in Kelley, but I could have taken them all over the campus.

A100- basic Accounting is only taught in McNutt(Northwest)

I can answer more of your questions if you want.

I have a few questions for D attending next year, who needs to apply for housing nieghborhood…

Does anyone know which dorms are “nicer” ie have been renovated recently?

How are Wright and Teter, they both seem good location for campus, and close to workout center. I know Wright is old, but has it been updated?

How are McNutt and Foster, I have heard McNutt is out of control party place but if applicants are in same pool as Foster and Briscoe, seems they would all be similar?

I heard Briscoe is really nice, but far?

Is Read mostly Music or mixed crowd?

McNutt and Briscoe have both been renovated. Briscoe has suites and is very nice. I believe all buildings in McNutt will have private/public bathrooms by next year which are a big step up.

Wright and Teter both have good locations, but definitely have a well-deserved reputation as not being as nice as other dorms on campus. Wright has no AC, which can be pretty miserable at the beginning of the year.

My experience in McNutt was definitely a good one. I would say the environment was very social, but never hindered my ability to study.

Briscoe is very far from pretty much everything.

Read has a strong music influence.
