Indiana vs. Wisconsin

so untill today i was set on going to Indiana but i recieved my acceptance from Wisconsin today. i plan on studying finance and minor in mathematics. which school would you say is better? recruitment, academics, life, etc.

indiana hands down

** QOL ** is way better Madison.

Kelley school of Business without a doubt.

Ranked higher; better recruiting...Take a look at Kelley's career resources.

Top notch.

i thought wisco madison was one of those top notch public schools? is indiana really that much better?

Wisconsin as a school in whole, yes. Indiana is a better business program.

do u guys have those rankings then? and i mean like not just the 1-3 that are available for free by usnews??

I can give you the Rankings for Kelley in certain areas.

Business Week 2006

Overall business program was ranked 10th out of all universities, 4th out of public universities.

Public Accounting Report 2006

Ranked 7th undergrad accounting.

U.S. News & World Report (2006)
In Finance it was ranked 7th out of all universities, and 4th out of public universities.

In Entrepreneurship it was ranked 3rd out of all universities, 1st out of public universities.

Management 5th out of all; 4th out of public.

These hyped up rankings mean nothing. And better recruiting....have you even check Wisconsin's numbers? I doubt it. From one investment club, more than 20 people last year got recruited into investment banks, most being hired by credit suisse and bac securities. These are hires completed without help from the career center or oci. Considering 3 graduates from 4 years ago (from this same club) are now coming to do oci on campus through the career center, i presume there are a good number more that are hired. Not to mention that the career center brings in just as many companies per year as indiana and illinois and they have a higher number of consulting firms that do oci

Secondly, basketball cannot be compared to football. You will be within range of two large cities. Living in the capital comes with its advantages...etc

Hazmat, I love Wisconsin and Madison, but I would not go so far as to say that QOL at Wisconsin is "way better" than at IU. IU is pretty sweet too. I would personally recommend IU over Wisconsin, but only by a hair. The OP should visit both schools and then decide.

Wisconsin wins by the scoop not the hair. All that talk of beer barrels and brats but the deal maker is Babcock Hall and the best cone in the zone. I mean Big 10
