Indiana vs. Wisconsin

My top two choices are Indiana University and University of Wisconsin..i plan on doing business too..i got into the business school, Kelley, in Indiana and Wisconsin's business school you dont apply to until sophmore year...i cant decide between the two so what are the pros and cons of each and which do you think would be the better pick...i already visited them both and loved them both

-btw im OOS for both, but i got a 9,000 dollar a year scholarship for Indiana but nothing for Wisconsin, but i dont want to base my whole decision on money...

Go to Indiana for business if you love both and it costs considerably less.

My general impression view from a couple of thousand miles away, except for things Indiana is famous for (music comes to mind), Wisconsin is the school with the better overall and national reputation.

Indiana is well known for business too Senior’s Dad.

Overall, Wisconsin has the better academic reputation, but Indiana’s business school is excellent and the climate is a little more mild. Both are great choices. I am an IU grad, so I am a little biased. :)

I would choose Wisconsin if not for the fact that you have a 9K scholarship at Indiana and that it is top 10 in your field. I would visit both. Madison is the Berkeley of the Midwest and IU is a much more conservative campus so you want to find out where you fit in as well. If money is no object then personally I would choose Wisconsin, but IU is a great choice as well given the scholarship and your major.

UW has a better overall rep, but Kelley is a great school with a great reputation, and the 9K a year certainly doesn’t hurt. I personally love IU (I’m strongly considering it for next year too). Plus, the weather isn’t nearly as cold!

Spent time on both campuses and suggest you visit both. Though WI and IN are large Big Ten schools they are socially night and day. IN is quite conservative with a big Greek system. WI is liberal. Had good HS friends who went to IN, were a bit artsy looking and had a miserable time, but loved visiting Madison and its more easy going environment.

I know several people who after 2 years at Wisc, could not get into their 1st choice major Business. Go to IU you are in at a great Business school!

As someone who is probably going to go to Madison, I would say that you should go to IU. It seems like a better fit and you can’t beat the scholarship. Madison has a good business school but it is not in the same league as Kelley. Unless you’re doing economics which is alot better at Madison, I’d go to IU.

Dancing in the Rain - can you tell us a little more about what you are looking for in a college as far as atmosphere etc?
