Indians/Asians are.....underrepresented?

I hear that Indians and Asians in general are URM at this school in contrast to pretty much everywhere else (Ivies etc.) I found this pretty surprising since ND's a pretty prestigous school. How much does being Indian or Asian in general help you at this school? Are there any other universities like this that need Asians?

Technically, South/East Asians are overrepresented, in that the percentage slightly exceeds the US population percentage. However, you’re right, in that it does not hurt applicants to Notre Dame, and some claim it helps (Notre Dame’s minority outreach includes programs for Asian students).

I doubt there are any schools saying they “need Asians,” but there may be some that consider it a positive diversity factor, like being a member of another minority group. You’ll have to do your own research there, but my guess would be to look at schools in non-coastal states.

That’s cool, not exactly URM but better then most I guess.
