In terms of standardized testing (the original question), i'd say Indians are about the same as Asians. I'm Indian, and I've always considered myself to be part of Asia, but whatever. I know Indians and Asians with a 1600 and a lot of 800s.

people only recognize the smarts asians and indians...therefore they assume they are all smart

How about smart Inuits?

this thread is BS... You people are generalizing. You cant represent the majority.. Your forgotting other races. I dunno but in NY we have a group called African Americans (I am not one). How about them?

The one Indian kid I know is dumb, she thinks she got a 2 on the AP Calc AB test.

Also, the only person I know that got a 1590 (800 math, 790 verbal) is white, blond hair, blue eyes, varsity quarterback for the football team.

this makes me think of harold and kumar

LMAO funniest movie ever!!!

There is no way to tell, since oriental asians and indians are not differentiated on standardized testing.

White Castle Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

What are you saying...?

He's asking of the two groups, which type does better on average? Yes, you can represent the majority... I'll just pull a random example.

Example: Say on average 70% of Indians score a 2000+, then that would be the majority. Then say, 70% of East Asians score less than 2000. Then that would be the majority for East Asians. Thus, from this you could conclude that Indians do better on average. Just an example, nothing behind those stats, they were just made up ;).

Yes, we are generalizing, thats how you represent the majority. In this case there is NO possible way you can explain things with on a case-by-case basis. I'm sure you could find Indians and Asians who have both scored 2400s, thus it would render this comparison pointless. However, if you compared the averages, then you could find which one has the higher average.

He wasn't even comparing African Americans to them. He asked, between Asians and Indians, which do better on standardized tests.

Back to the topic, I'd say on average they both do very well, I don't think the difference would be very large if there is one. Although India is a part of Asia ;).

india is a subcontinent of asia :D

Do you really wanna compare their SATs to asians? It would look awful. And that isn't the thread.

in that case its asians.. again i am not asain but those ppl know their stuff

Indians are South-Asian, not normal Asian - Indians at my school are told to fill out the "other" bubble

I think Asians do better on SAT testing, because I think Indians care less (but lots of Indians are alot)

You'll find TONS of Indians at public universities (not knocking on them), but not so many Asians

Asians are in public universities all the time

look at UCI and UCLA

I think Indians are smarter, because they have pow-wows and stuff, and my teachers used to tell me that music helps people get smarterer. And since they have all those pow-wows with music, they must be smart.

The only good thing Asians ever invented is rice, so I mean, they can't be that smart. Plus their eyes are squinted, so they can't read gooder.

JUST KIDDING! Do not get ****y. I am part Indian (native american) and my best friend Jae is Korean. And I know you are talking about India Indians, which are Asians, to whoever made this thread.

I would have to say Asians are a little better than Indians at standarized testing because they do kuman and drill for hours every weekend in groups. They are equal in Math but Asians would get the edge in verbal-related standarized testing. iv never seen indian parents demand 1600s/2400s.. but i have seen asian parents demand that. although both parents push their kids, asian parents are more cutthroat about it and indians parents are more 'maximize your potential' and 'i got into iit... so u can easily get into mit.'

lol, thats funny, good thing ur kidding Gigante
