I'm from India (long time ago, obviously!), so I was drawn to this thread...

Where else are all of you applying? Do you have your RD apps done?

why do u guys think u got rejected

weak essays?

weak activities?

Im India, but my numbers aren't too impressive

hopefully being first gen and low income helps

I was rejected as well. I think a large part of it is that we are not URMs. It's almost like even if we work three times as hard as a legacy, a celebrity, or even a URM, we had a .00000000000001 chance of getting accepted. I don't think I would give up my race or my background for an acceptance to this school, though.

^^oooooh man your so creative bro....i love your excuses....

^^ I do too, especially since they're rather accurate.

^^^omg, im sooooo sorry guys...i forgot to introduce you to kyledavid....hes the new admissions rep for Stanford...so im sure he knows that cookiemon90 didn't get in because Stanford admissions turns down kids like him all the time (all exceptionally talented and smart) However because he wasn't legacy or a URM

^^ when you see case after case that support such a hypothesis, you start to see a pattern. Or at least, I hope you do.

@Ailey - I'm just about done with my RD apps. Unfortunately, a few of them are for equally selective colleges (Harvard, Yale, Columbia). I really doubt I have a shot at those schools after this ... :(

Hey I'm Indian too got rejected 2340 SAT, 1590M/V, 4.0 GPA 5/487, siemens semi, published research.... stanford hates indians I guess

I, too, am now worried about my other apps which include harv, prince, columbia

jeez, there have to be some accepted indians out there...

wow i didn't know stanford was that biased against indians.....

ANYONE accepted???

Rejected:
2340 SAT, 4.0 UW gpa and very good ECs. May be the bias thing is true....

we shood have applied to yale being from east coast and indian = 2% chance at stanford

I am Indian, and I was accepted into Stanford EA

My DD is indian origin and got rejected as well.

We thought she had everything going for her. Was a total shock to everyone. Every indian in her school got rejected with the exception of one deferral (Bayarea highly comp. HS.)

BTW, her essays had nothing to do with her accomplishments, really brought out her voice and how she has unique characteristics.
