Indication of Penn Acceptance?

In the ED discussion thread, it appears some ED applicants who applied for FA recieved this email:

I am pleased to tell you that we are waiving your $400.00 enrollment deposit. The information contained in your financial aid application indicates that such an exemption is warranted.

As soon as we receive your online reply that you will attend Penn, we will reserve your place in the freshman class. No deposit will be required.

Does this imply an acceptance? I, myself, applied for FA because my family income is <$40000. I received no such email. Does the lack of this email imply rejection/deferral for me?

similar situation here… but I keep comforting myself by saying that even though our family income is low, we are not that short of money… and Penn simply thought that $400 won’t hurt me…

We’ll know in 30 hrs, no need for last minute speculation anymore I guess…

^Did you apply for a fee-waiver though? Btw, do you have a china passport? Apparently, they wouldn’t give me one unless I gave up my Canadian one, which I’m quite tempted to do.

So this email corresponds to FA applicants of US/Canada/Mexico residency?

Only a few Intls get aid, so I suppose so.

I gave up my Chinese passport year ago… it isn’t that useful (other than saving the troubles of getting Chinese visas for staying in China)

Oh hmmm… there was a fee-waiver application? relief~That makes me feel soooo much better…

^why on earth would you be tempted to give up your Canadian passport?

Why would you give up your Chinese passport? It’s like one of the hardest to get in the world o: Go chinamen lolol

I didn’t apply for a deposit waiver. I wasn’t even thinking about a deposit, since admission is the more important than anything right now.

Regardless, you guys shouldn’t worry about it.

^^LOL… to be honest… it is literally IMPOSSIBLE to get a Chinese passport… I think there are probably a handful of people ever in history to get one without being born with it… nonrenewable resource~ but low on rarity since 1.4 billion people have it

^agree… pointless worrying now
