Indirect Alumni and Name Dropping

My aunt received an MBA from HBS. I added that into the "non academic distinctions" portion of the supplement. Does this count as alumni/legacy or help at all?

Also: Is a family relationship to high level foreign political figures worth mentioning? Or does it come off as name dropping?

Only relations to Harvard college alumni are considered, typically. Name dropping is always name dropping. Worth mentioning? Depends on who it is, I suppose, but rarely, celebrity status is only really relevant if you're the famous one.

Thanks- Pretty much what I was looking for.

I ended up mentioning the family members in a supplement essay for Yale- kinda tied in with a global perspective thing and looking up to them.

Thanks again for the advice though- objective opinions are GREAT :)
