Indoc week

Anyone coming to NY early Indoc week? There are a few of us arriving the weekend before Indoc to acclimate our plebe canidates, take in an evening ballgame, and become familiar with the train systems. Keeping it low key but just becoming comfortable with the surroundings.

We may arrive around 2 July. Depends when our older son is deployed to Iraq. At the moment he's scheduled to get back from training at 29 Palms on 10 July and deploy the following week.....but....if he gets home early we will go to Norfolk on the 2nd and drive to KP on the 4th........all depends on the Navy!

If either of you need any help with directions and what not send me a PM and I'll try to fill you in on what I know that may be of help to you.

Our family will travel from Idaho on July 2nd. We hope to take some family time and become familiar with the area before Indoc on July 5th. None of us (except our son, who visited a couple months ago) has been to New York, so everything about this experience is new to us! This site has really helped us become more familiar with the Academy, and has made us feel more comfortable. Thank you to all of you who are willing to share your questions AND your answers.

welcome to the family that is Kings Point!
enjoy what time is left and keep on truckin!

We did the big drop off last year. My advice would be not to try to do to much, it will be a very tough trip. Plan on just hanging out and getting your bearings around the area. Keep it simple and enjoy your time, it will make for very important and lasting memories. Good luck to all of you, our thoughts and prayers will be with all of you. KP2010dad.

go out and have a good meal the night before.... it will be the last one for a while... also the morning of the seven seas diner on middle neck rd. as you are driving into great neck is good to go for breakfast....

Enjoy

My son and I (my wife can't get away, maybe for the best) are flying out July 4th from Illinois. We were there a few weeks ago for open house. He was very impressed.
